24th July 2008 Interview with Kati

1. What does excite you easily?
In positive mind some unexpected and long-awaited event. For example supergood Summer weather, active holiday trip, meeting with some good friend, whom you haven't seen for a long time.
2. Would you live with 5000 EEK in month? If not, then why?
It depends, WHERE I have to live with this money. For example in India you could have a lot of fun with that amount of money.
3. Many people have something, what they are afraid of. For example: being in a lift or being in a room without windows. Do you have some fobias?
Yes I have, but I'm afraid to talk about them.
4. What kind of men don't you like? Why?
There's no reason... if I don't like them, then I just don't like them.
5. With which star from abroad or from Estonia would you like to make friends with?
I'd like to familiarize more with Madonna to do yoga with her! :)

Although Lenna's days are full of work, she managed to get her driving licence a month ago. ''Finally I have it!'', cheers Lenna, ''I even failed theory exam once in ARK, but I made driving from the first try!'' Lenna doesn't have her own car yet, but you can see her driving already. 15th July 2008 Piret's message

Piret wrote a message for fans:

"Dear all who still stick with us and take time to discuss our lives and music on the Vnboard! The fact that you care means the world to us and gives us a lot of power to continue the thing we are doing. Vanilla Ninja is really proud to have all of you as our fans. I think we have some of the most loyal fans on this planet and this is just cool! At the moment Lenna is on tour with Dago, but we still have meetings regularly to discuss the VN things, so don't worry - even if you are not able to read too many articles about VN these days we are very concentrated on our future plans and constantly work on them. But it all takes time and this time around we take things really carefully. Anyways
    - at the moment I am enjoying my summer, visit my vocal-coach and practice my guitar. Also I try to work on my car licence, which means that I take car lessons. Hopefully our official page vanillaninja.ee will have more information on it soon. We're working on this as well. I wish all of you the warmest and funnest summer possible!
Hopefully You'll hear from us soon and I hope to keep hearing from you!

    Love,
    Piret"

15th July 2008 Piret and Kallervo in Kroonika

    Love started on the beach
Piret Järvis and Kallervo Karu's relationship is sweet as honey. The only drop of tears in their honeypot is Kallervo's hippy style moustache, which Piret cuts at night.
Vanilla Ninja's blonde beauty Piret (24) and Slide-Fifty's drummer Kallervo (22) got engaged last year during Christmas. It was a well kept secret, which came out in beginning of Summer.
Piret and Kallervo met for the first time 2 and half years ago in Saku Suurhall, where Slide-Fifty was Vanilla Ninja's warm-up band at their concert there. They then met again in Germany, when Piret lived in Cologne. Kallervo went there with a bigger group to a concert. There was no eye contact then, because both of them were seeing someone. The turning point in their love story was a party on the beach.

When did sparks begin between you two?
Kallervo: As a coincidence we both performed at the same time in Őllesummer. After the concert we happened to be in the same company, which was on the way to the beach for the afterparty. In the morning I woke up with Piret at the beach. Then half a year passed since we first met.

Piret: Yes, at that party sparks started to fly. It was a really beautiful and bright Summer night and really warm. We talked untill the sunset - it was an especially beautiful morning. After our time together, I was sure, that there was something between us.

Kallervo: And in the morning, sand in her hair, she went straight away to the band rehearsal.

You can read more in the new issue of Kroonika magazine.

14th July 2008 What are imagined stories?

    What are imagined stories?
Chalice: Rumours come and go "I have lots of stories what I've made up myself, about four albums and more. But – there have been a lot of rumours about me. They come and go. They are funny but I can't remind any of them. I still fib."
    (Then Lauri tells his story.)

Lenna Kuurmaa: For getting candies and sweets there was always some way getting them.
"There has been a lot of stories made up about me, but I wouldn't like to remind them – specifically negative things have been made up a lot. When I was a little girl, of course I fibbed. For getting candies and sweets somebody always made up something, but that was so long time ago."

14th July 2008 interview with Lenna, Lauri Saatpalu and Chalice

"I'm in a swivet," says Lauri Saatpalu. "Yes, I'm in a swivet too," says Jarek Kasari aka Chalice.
"It's kinda like before exams," says Lauri. On Thursday tour "Imaginary Tales" started in Viljandi.
"What's the time?" - asks Lenna Kuurmaa.
    "20.54," looks Chalice.
"Then it starts now," knows Lenna.
Lauri gets himself up from a bed of a traveling bus which is parked next to the stage and enters in the performing pants and jacket. Artists enfold the nervousness in the conversation.
"People don't smile in Switzerland," tells Chalice.
"You haven't been in Switzerland enough," teaches Lauri. "They have so much money that they smile all the time. What they don't have, are computers - they bought at that time so expensive faxes that they work thus far."

They're singing on the stage with changes

Dished singing place in castlemountains of Viljandi fills slowly with people. Time is there.
Here and there the hands are doing clap-clap.
"Your area clapping like you've come to a concert," arrives Lauri with Dagö on the stage.
Clap-clap-clap, are doing the hands more boldly.
"You didn't see on the advertisment that you have to cart the benches closer?" asks Lauri. And starts the concert.
Benches, which are stuck on the ground, stay to their places. But in front of the stage gathers quickly firstly a bunch, then a group and finally a flock of concert people.
"I think it's not a surprise to anyone that the concert continues, so we'll perform the next song to you," says Lauri on the stage.
"Fucking good song," admits one concert visitor and stows the sleeping kid in the perambulator.
    Change.
    Maestro Chalice comes.
"Jarek does with his voice what he wants," comes from the public.
"Minu inimesed (My people)" achieved success, says applause.
"Next is ensemble Dagö," announces Chalice.
    "Get ready, Chalice," comments Saatpalu.
"Teine Kadriorg (Second Kardiorg)" went very well, says aplaus.
Concert goes on. Lauri, Chalice and Lenna are singing backup vocals to each other in changing compositsions.

    Who dances how

By the final, everybody is on the stage again dancing and singing.
Chalice dances like a plastic panda.
Lauri dances like a robot which is little bit out of order.
Lenna dances like a young woman who has a good mood and some sweet trouble in ther mind.
"Šveits (Switzerland)" is very normal song, says applause while becoming an ovation.
After the first concert of the tour artists admitted:
Chalice: "Stage chemistry was there. Even while being alone on the stage I felt that others where somewhere with me."
Lenna: "We had very much fun on the stage, we fit wonderfully."
Lauri: "Now we know that it works. Before we had a fear that... but now it's clear that in big part it's right."

    6th july 2008 Elu24 about Piret's engagement

Piret Järvis: I am not yet ready to get a child

In today's program "Open Your Eyes" of Radio 2, the reporters Maris and Sten tortured Piret Järvis mainly with questions about her wedding and marriage.

For example, it was interesting for the moderators, what colour Piret's wedding dress will have, and whether August 08 (08-08-08) was not a good date for the wedding and how much attention the groom paid for the wedding theme.

"On 08-08-08, I will not marry Kalervo for sure. This is so unoriginal," Piret said resolutely and she added, that the exact date for the wedding has not even been thought about with her partner. Piret reckons, however, that her wedding dress will be traditionally white.

6th july 2008 SL Õhtuleht about Piret's engagement

Member of Vanilla Ninja engaged with her boyfriend, drummer of Slide Fifty Kallervo Karu. Young stars managed to keep their enagement in secret for half of the year.

When we ask member of Vanilla Ninja and VJ of Estonian MTV if the rumours were correct she answered honestly that it is true. First thing which Piret asked is: where and how it became known to media. As it turns out they had engaged already a while ago. At the end of last year... during Christmas!
